Terms and Conditions of Skate Hire

By renting skates from Slick Willie’s Limited, you agree that Slick Willie’s Limited will not accept any liability for any incidents or injuries you encounter while renting out skates, nor are we required to provide any form of compensation. You rent and skate at your own risk and therefore accept full responsibility for any injuries sustained whilst skating.

  • The Hirer must be over the age of 18. Anyone under this age must be accompanied by an adult
  • Each person hiring skates must agree to these waiver individually by signing it themselves.
  • The Hirer is responsible for the roller skates and protective equipment hired and it is the Hirer’s responsibility to keep the items hired safe from damage, loss or theft, use it in a proper manner and not subject it to any misuse or unfair wear and tear.
  • The Hirer will not transfer or subcontract the skates and protective equipment to another party.
  • The skates and protective equipment remain the property of Slick Willies at all times and the Hirer shall have no right, title or interest in the roller skates and protective equipment.
  • Slick Willies highly recommends the use of personal protective equipment during skating activity. Wrist guards, Elbow Pads, Knee pads and Helmets are available to borrow free of charge. Wearing protective equipment will greatly reduce the chance of injury due to a fall / collision. Slick Willies accepts no responsibility for injury caused by a fall / collision which would have otherwise not occurred if protective equipment had been worn.
  • The Hirer agrees that Slick Willies Ltd are entirely free from liability, including financial responsibility from injuries incurred, regardless of how injuries are caused whilst using the hired items.
  • We highly recommend that you do not take part in skating activity if you suffer from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, brittle bones, joint injuries or any other condition that could be aggravated by this activity.
  • If you are, or suspect you are pregnant you should not take part in this activity.

We strongly recommend only skating in safe spaces such as in public parks, if using the road or pavements there will not always be a designated places for you to skate, so exercise caution when skating especially around pedestrians, cars and other traffic (we aren’t responsible for the actions of drivers). You may not use our skates while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other substances.

Our skates are machines and there is inherent risk associated with using them, including due to malfunction no matter how well they are maintained. These risks are not always obvious, and they may cause property damage, injury or even death to you or others. Subject to the above, by using our skates, you agree that you understand these risks, that it is your responsibility to use our skates safely. You are responsible for any harm you cause to other people or property.
