We are now stocking a small but quality range of electric skateboards from the best brands, including Boosted and Slick Revolution. Electric skateboards make a great way to get around town and are perfect for commuting too. Alternatively, if all you want to do is have a bit of fun, then you can do just that! As with electric scooters, the law is a little bit of a grey area when it comes to electric skateboards or e-boards. You don’t need a licence or insurance to own and use your electric board, but for that reason, you're also not allowed to ride them on public roads and public footpaths. Under the Highways Act, electric skateboards cannot be used in public places because they do not meet the same strict criteria which would be applied to a car, for instance. You don’t need regular MOTs or road tax, nor do you need a number plate. Those are all necessary if you’re legally driving a vehicle on the road. Without insurance, there’s a risk of prosecution if there’s an accident and injury involving your board. There’s still plenty of fun to be had, however! You can use your electric skateboard on private land, whether it’s your own or someone else’s with permission. That means you can skate to your heart’s content at a privately owned skatepark. If you have any queries about our electric skateboards or any other type of skateboards, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our team.
